Summer Running

Goal 1:  Double the number of athletes on our DY boys team

Goal 2:  Turn yourself into a running machine

Goal 3:  Win meets

Goal 4:  Do well at EMASS

GOAL 5:  Have fun


JULY:  build the base
In 5 minute increments each day, increase your daily running time until you can comfortably run 60-90 minutes SLOWLY

AUGUST:  sharpen the blade
mix your running in the following proportion:  50% long slow distance, 25 % tempo, 25% speed


OBVIOUS ADVICE:  stretch before and after running,  hydrate all day long, get good training shoes
